Brown spots from spilled hot chocolate look unattractive on cement. Remove these stains with baking soda or bleach. Both work effectively to remove stains, but bleach can discolor the cement. If you prefer to use bleach, use it on lighter cements or areas that are out of sight. Baking soda removes the stain and isn't abrasive enough to harm the surface. As with any stained item, cleaning right after the spill prevents the stain from soaking into the cement.
Baking Soda
Step 1
Coat the entire stain with baking soda.

Step 2
Wet a scrub brush with water and scrub the cement area. As you clean, the baking soda will turn somewhat tan from the hot chocolate.
Step 3
Rinse away the baking soda with water, using either a garden hose or bucket filled with water.
Bleach
Step 1
Pour bleach over the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Put on the gloves and scrub the bleach on the cement for one minute.
Step 3
Rinse off the bleach with water. If plants are nearby, soak up the bleach with sponges, as the bleach will kill any plants it touches.
