How to Make a Candy Display for Wedding Favors

If you are planning a wedding reception on a budget, create an eye-catching candy buffet, which can serve as both table decor and guest favors. The candy display will infuse reception tables with vibrant color and a playful look. Guests can enjoy the whimsical displays throughout dinner, and load up on the sweet treats before going home. For a customized look, choose candy and vessels that coordinate with the overall look of the wedding reception.

Things You'll Need

  • Candy
  • Clear glass vessels
  • Candy scoops
  • Favor bags or boxes

    • 1

Choose clear glass vessels so that the candies will show through. Pick a variety of vessels, such as vintage apothecary jars with lids, antique crystal candy dishes, punch bowls, margarita glasses, pedestal-style bowls and candy jars.

    • 2

Pick at least five different types of candies to use in the buffet. Plan to supply between one-fourth to one-half of a pound of candy per guests. Choose candies, such as jellybeans, gum drops, gumballs, Jordan almonds and mints, featuring wedding colors. Use candies featuring all one color, such as pink, for monochromatic look.

    • 3

Fill the glass vessels with the candy, using one type of treat per vessel. Display candy with sticks, such as lollipops and rock candy, standing up. Fill a jar or bowl with jellybeans and nestle the sticks into them for a decorative look.

    • 4

Line the candy-filled vessels down the center of the reception table, alternating the candy colors if they are varied. Group the jars and bowls in the center of the table as another option.

    • 5

Place one metal or plastic scoop next to each candy vessel. Provide guests with small favor bags or boxes that they can use to hold the candies.
