1
Select a color scheme. Boho rooms are known for their infusion of bright jewel tones. Pick two or three colors that you want to use as accents.
-
2
Paint the walls with a neutral white or cream. You want to anchor the room with a clean background that will accentuate brightly colored accents.
-
-
3
Hang window treatments. These treatments should be in the one of the accent colors you've selected. Silk curtains add a touch of romantic charm.
-
4
Place a rug pad on the area where you want to lay the rug. Roll the wool area rug over the rug pad.
-
5
Create a personal artwork wall. Frame a collection of family photographs. Vary the size, shape and color of the frames to increase visual appeal.
-
6
Hang a vintage chandelier. Match metal accessories to the chandelier to create cohesion. Black metals work best because they allow focus to remain on the light and the room's bright accents.
-
7
Place candles into the candleholders. Place the candleholders around the room, such as atop a coffee table, on a nightstand or on a windowsill.
-
8
Accessorize the room with bright, textured accent pieces. Add velvet pillows and a chenille throw to a sofa, chair or bed.
