How to Remove Jack Daniels Stains From Carpet

April Dowling

An enjoyable evening of drinking Jack Daniels may become unpleasant when you or someone else inadvertently spills the whiskey on carpet. Aside from the whiskey being wasted, the alcohol leaves an unmistakable blemish on carpet. Like all alcoholic beverages, Jack Daniels quickly permeates carpet and develops into a crusty stain over time. The longer the whiskey stays in carpet, the harder the carpet becomes to restore. Promptly remove Jack Daniels whiskey from carpet using common solutions.

Overdrinking whiskey may lead to spills.

Step 1

Blot up excess Jack Daniels whisky using white paper towels. Absorb as much as possible.

Step 2

Add warm water to a spray bottle. Douse the remaining whiskey stain with the water.

Step 3

Blot up the moistened whiskey using fresh paper towels. Extract as much from the carpet as possible.

Step 4

Examine the carpet for lingering whiskey. If any Jack Daniels stain remains, fill a pail with 2 cups of warm water. Stir 1 tablespoon of both white vinegar and liquid dishwashing detergent into the water.

Step 5

Moisten a white cloth in the soapy vinegar solution. Tamp the whiskey-stained carpet with the liquid until the remaining stain dissolves.

Step 6

Dampen another cloth with cold water. Blot the previously blemished portion of carpet until the soapy detergent solution is rinsed out.

Step 7

Tamp the moist carpet with a towel.
