How to Involve Dogs in a Wedding
For many couples, their dogs are like their children. If you and your fiance feel that it simply wouldn't be right to get married without your dogs by your side, figure out a way to incorporate them into your wedding. When you do this, ensure that the dogs will be an addition to the wedding and not a distraction from you on your big day. If your dogs are aggressive or excessively shy, including them might not be a great idea.

Place white collars and leashes on your dogs, or choose collars and leashes in one of your wedding colors. Alternatively, put the dogs in tuxedos or dresses made for dogs. If you want the dogs standing at the altar with the wedding party, have wedding party members walk the dogs down the aisle and stand with them at the front. Otherwise, enlist a close friend to walk down the aisle with the dogs, then sit with them on a front bench.

Use your dog as your ring bearer. Purchase a ring bearer pillow that will tie around your dog's stomach. Have a member of the wedding party walk the dog down the aisle at the proper time. Just as when a child serves as the ring bearer, do not place the real rings on the pillow. Use it only for show.

Take some pictures with your fiance and your dogs before the wedding day. Have them blown up and then place them on easels around the reception space. This is a good option if you want to include your dogs in the wedding but they are too aggressive or rambunctious to be there.
