How to Do a Front Post Half-Treble Crochet
A front post half-treble crochet is an advanced crochet stitch. The post of a crochet stitch is the height of the stitch. Usually crochet stitches are made in the spaces between stitches. For a front post stitch, you crochet around the post of the stitch instead of in the spaces. It takes a little practice with this type of stitch to get it to lie correctly and for your stitches to become even.

Yarn over the hook once. Insert the hook through the space in the next crochet stitch. Yarn over the hook twice and pull the hook back to the front of the work. There should be four loops on the hook. Yarn over once and pull all of the loops off of the hook, leaving a single loop on the hook.

Yarn over the hook. Insert the hook next to the post of the stitch from front to back. Go around the back of the post and insert the hook up through the front of the crochet piece on the other side of the post. There are two loops on the hook at this point, and the post of the stitch is in front of the hook.
