How to Make Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 1/2 c. powdered sugar (plus more, as needed)

Instructions

      Beat the cream cheese, butter and vanilla until light and fluffy.

      Gradually add 2 c. of the powdered sugar, beating constantly.

      Gradually beat in the rest of the powdered sugar until the mixture is spreadable.

      Use immediately.

Tips & Warnings

  • If frosting doesn't seem thick enough after adding the powdered sugar, try adding up to 1/4 c. more of powdered sugar until it is the consistency you like.

  • Cover and store frosted cakes in the refrigerator.

  • This frosting will keep up to six days in the refrigerator and up to six months in the freezer.
