How to Take Wrinkles Out of Clothing
Ironing isn't the only way to get rid of wrinkles. If you're traveling without your iron or are just too lazy to drag out the ironing board, your clothes don't have to look like you've slept in them. Some people are sensitive to the perfumes and dyes in fabric-softener sheets, and others are concerned about the potential environmental impact of the sheets, so try out these low-impact (and free) steps first.

If you haven't yet taken a shower, give your clothes a good shake and hang them in the bathroom near the shower. The steam from the shower will relax the wrinkles.

2
If this doesn't solve the problem, dampen your hands slightly and run them over the surface of the garment, smoothing out the wrinkles as you go. Wait a few minutes, allowing the garment to dry. Alternatively, use a spray bottle filled with water to mist the garment lightly instead of wetting your hands.

If these steps still haven't fixed the problem, dampen the garment slightly and place it in the dryer with a fabric-softener sheet (check the garment's label first to see if it's safe to put in the dryer). Tumble dry for a few minutes until the wrinkles fall out.

Tips & Warnings
To avoid wrinkles in the first place, don't overload the dryer, and remove the clothes from the machine when they are just barely dry.

For cotton clothes that were wonderful to wear until that first washing, you don't like to iron and the hem rolls, here's the secret: After washing, take it in the shower, spray it down soaking wet, hang it straight on a good hanger, smooth the wrinkles out, straighten the hem, the cuffs, sleeves, even put in pleats if need be, but let it drip dry. When dry, voila! no wrinkles! If you want to soften it a bit, toss it in the dryer for a couple of minutes, but no longer or you undo all that you just did. -

For nylon/spandex/rayon mix clothes that have wrinkles, wet a washcloth, squeeze it out so it is not dripping, throw it and the wrinkled article in the dryer on permanent press setting for 10 minutes in the middle of the cycle. If you set the dryer for 10min, it goes into the cool down cycle and just makes your clothes damp and doesn't take out the wrinkles. -

Put a cap full of liquid fabric softener into a spray bottle, fill the remainder of the bottle with water. Spray on wrinkled clothing. Works a whole lot better than Febreze and is way, way cheaper. It will not stain clothing (it's too diluted). I even use this concoction when I travel.
