1
Measure how long you want the veil to be, starting at the top of your head and moving down to the floor. Most chapel veils have at least 6 inch of train that rests on the floor.
-
2
Cut a piece of tulle, a netted fabric, to double the desired length of the veil. Most tulle fabrics come in 72-inch and 108-inch widths. Select the 108-inch width for a fuller veil.

3
Fold the fabric in half lengthwise. Fold the material widthwise, as well. Use a piece of chalk to draw a quarter circle along the bottom edge of the material. Cut along the marked line to create a curved end on the veil's train. Unfold the veil widthwise.
-
4
Sew along the top fold of the veil using a gathering stitch. Make the stitch, which moves the needle over and under the fabric, across the entire top of the veil.
-
5
Pull the string that's been sewn through the veil to gather the material. The top of the fabric should be gathered into a bunch about 2 inches wide. Tie the thread in knots to keep it gathered in place.
-
6
Sew the gathered portion of the veil to a French comb or tiara. Use a whip stitch to pass the needle from the tulle through the attachment and back into the fabric. Make small stitches to ensure the veil is securely in place.
