It can be really annoying when after a night on the town your coat or clothing smells like cigarette smoke but isn't dirty. It can also get really expensive to dry clean your clothes all the time just to remove cigarette odor. There is a very simple trick that will take out the smell for just pennies.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Place garment in the dryer. Place one or more dryer sheets inside of dryer according to strength of smoke smell, using more dryer sheets for a stronger smoke smell. Turn on the dryer.
Step2
Tumble garment with dryer sheets for about one minute. Take out and smell. If the smoke smell is still there repeat step #1.

Tips & Warnings

  • If a garment is dry clean only, run the dryer for 15 seconds at a time to avoid shrinkage.
  • The stronger the scent of the dryer sheet, the quicker the smoke smell will come out. The dryer sheet sucks the smoke smell out of the garment and into itself. Alternatively, hang the garment securely on a hanger and place it outdoors for several hours. Choose a spot where the garment will get well-aired but not damaged by the elements.
