Tower Fan Vs. Regular Fan
Shoppers may find it difficult to decide whether to choose a tower fan or a standard fan. Both seem to offer the same features and both seem to be pretty cost efficient; however, the tower fan and regular fan are very different. They do share some of the same features, but each offers its own benefit. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Price Range
-
Tower fans range in price from the standard $50 unit to $300 for the high-end remote-controlled product. Regular fan prices range from as low as $2 for a mini hand-held fan to larger metal-blade fans that surpass $100. All prices are as of 2010.
Convenience
-
The tower fan's oscillating unit makes it a convenient way to circulate cool air around a room. Some regular fans come with a remote to set the speed and you can set a timer for the fan to shut off.
-
Air Purification
-
There are some tower fans that have filters in them to remove pollen and dust in the air. Regular fans don't have the benefit of filtering allergens.
Cooling
-
Tower fans can cool off small- to medium-sized rooms. Regular floor fans come as large as 36 inches, which can blow out a larger amount of cool air.
