Every now and then we all get the itch to shake things up a bit, especially around the house. Whether we seek a more functional space or a boost in color, imagining our homes in a new light is always a fun game to play.
Take for instance this foyer — the guinea pig for today’s virtual update. The beautiful hardwood floors and tall ceilings set us on the right path for providing a welcoming space for guests, but the bare walls, dated light fixture and furniture arrangement could stand for a little improvement to bring this space to its maximum potential.
Nothing a little imagination and super organized mood board can’t fix!
We’ll start by painting the boring white walls a subtle, yet warming, pale butter and mixing in accents of lemon, tan and turquoise to give just the pop of color this space deserves.
Updating the original light fixture with a more contemporary lantern gives the room a warm glow and instantly changes the feel of the space.
A chic new console table paired with a fun mirror and lamp fits perfectly, while wicker baskets add function and additional storage.
Wrapping up the space with a neutral rug to break up the hardwoods, and throwing in a bench and artwork in our new color scheme completes the picture. In no time at all, we have a revamped space perfect for welcoming friends and family.
