Kids in Albuquerque, New Mexico, have plenty of venues to choose from when it's time to plan a birthday party. Whether you want an indoor or an outdoor party, an educational party or just plain fun, you can find a facility that meets your needs and your budget. Boys and girls alike have a lot of decisions to make when it comes to choosing a birthday party place in Albuquerque.

Rio Grande Zoo and BioPark

  • At the Rio Grande Zoo and BioPark, there are many ways that families can celebrate a birthday party. For noncatered parties during regular business hours, guests don't even need reservations. Areas to consider are the Botanic Garden's Festival Green, the grassy peninsula at Tingley, the plaza in front of the Aquarium or the Zoo's Cottonwood Park. Each member of the party needs a ticket. There are no group discounts, and as of 2009, admission for adults is $7 and children is $3. For the safety of the animals, balloons, Frisbees, alcohol and noisemakers are not allowed.

For catered parties inside the zoo, they offer two party packages: package B includes park admission, birthday cake and ice cream, and package A, which is only $2 more per child, offers a hot dog or chicken drumstick in addition to the contents of package B. As of the summer of 2009, for 12 children, package A costs $215 and package B is $185. Additional children are welcome at an additional fee. Discuss this when you make your reservation.

The Aquarium, also in BioPark, also hosts birthday parties in the Shark Reef Cafe. Admission is not included, and the party consists of a designated seating area and a birthday cake.
