High-Fiber Liquid Diets

Most soluble or insoluble fibers are difficult to turn into liquids for a fiber diet, as they are constant in barleys, oats and legumes. However, there is a large amount of fiber in many fruits and vegetables that can be blended into a high-fiber liquid diet. This will help you not only to lose weight, but to cleanse the intestines and colon of what they have been carrying. Before going on any diet, check with your doctor or nutritionist.

Vegetables

There is a wide variety of vegetables that are incredibly high in fiber, but aren't necessarily very tasty when it comes to making them into juice. However, a few can be created in a blender, like broccoli juice and carrot juice. By putting these fresh vegetables through a juicer, a shake can be made, which will not necessarily be high on taste but very high on fiber. A shake should be consumed in the morning and at night, with other, more palatable shakes in between. Mass-produced vegetable juices are also high in fiber, but have trace sugars and other ingredients that you may not want in your diet, so read the labels before drinking them.

Fruits

Fruits are most likely the more palatable way to go when it comes to a strictly high-fiber liquid diet, as they are sweeter and easier to drink in liquid form. Some of the fruits with the highest concentrations of fiber are apples, bananas, berries, oranges, bananas and, of course, the infamous prune. Smoothies or other shakes can be made out of these juices, or can be had on their own. Nuts that are high in both fiber and protein, like cashews, can also be mixed in to form a more nutritious meal during the high-fiber liquid diet, as drinking fruit juice alone is not nutritionally balanced or healthy over a long period of time.

Soups

Soups with vegetables high in fiber are also a great way to go on the high-fiber liquid diet. Lentil soup, potatoes and sweet peas or beans all will mix together to make a hearty soup that is rich in fiber content. All beans are an excellent source of fiber which will help to clear your intestinal tract and help you lose weight. Even the broth you use to make the soup will have a certain amount of fiber in it and will remain low fat. Soups are an excellent way to have a real meal in between high fiber fruit and vegetable shakes.
