Did you know that some major candle manufacturers actually have their workers wear hazmat suits to make the candles? I'm Lauren Roy for Sugar Hollow Farm in Phillipston, Mass. And I'm going to show you how to make a candle that you don't have to wear a hazmat suit to make. You can take a vegetable based wax, a container, a wick, and some essential oils. This is tangerine. You melt the wax, put it in your container, and add the wick. You can put some of the essential oils in first, and then put some wax in and then some more in, so that the fragrance is all throughout the entire candle, but the wax will pick up the scent of whatever essential oil you decide to use. And then suspend your wick with a stick and let it harden. You can use different essential oils to create different atmospheres and to create different aromatherapy experiences. You can use lavender for relaxation, you can use something like clove and lemon for stimulating and you can use a combination for many different things. Most of your candles will not be colored though because you're not going to be using commercials dyes to make them different colors. This is Lauren Roy for Sugar Hollow Farm in Phillipston, Mass.
