Hi I'm Tim Gipson and I'm going to talk to you about how to remove caulking. Now when you are removing caulking it's very useful to pick up a tool such as this. And what it does is it gives you some, some sharp edges to be able to scrape and very easily work with that caulking. Now this is a tool that's fairly inexpensive and something you can pick up at hardware store or just about any home improvement store. So with our tool, what we want to do is start on the edge here, then we want to take this point and we want to put it right down onto the corner. And then using both our hands what we want to do is just kind of work back and forth a little bit to start the caulking and then you just want to use a steady scraping motion across this area. And adjust your angle as needed and what you want to be careful of is that we don't want to be digging into the wall board at all. So you want to make sure that you keep the angle of that caulking down and continue to work just by using scraping motions and with this particular tool we can actually work back towards us too. And in some cases going both ways allows us to scrape off that caulking. Now it's very important when you are scraping off caulking that you just get it down to this surface and then we want to come back and do any touch up paint that we need to and then we'll be ready to put our new bead of caulking on there. So I'm Tim Gipson and that's how to remove caulking.
