Knot tying has a long varied history within our history. And if you go on the Internet you can find many, many sites that'll tell you the whole history of knot tying and it's very interesting. And today I'm going to show you how to do a slip knot. Now this is one of many ways that you can do a slip knot. And what I have here is I have a length of rope. And I have, this is my standing end here and this is going to be my working end. And basically what I'm going to do is I'm going to take my working end and I'm just going to tie a regular overhand knot over my work, or my standing end. So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to flip it over like so and actually I'm going to run it like this. And we'll bring it under like this so both the standing, the working end and the standing end are on the same side and just pull down like so. And there you go, you've made a slip knot. And whenever you tighten up on it, you can see it's just going to go in and tighten around whatever it is you want. And of course to loosen it out all you got to do is pull it and it just falls right out. Let's do that again. Just take it, and bring it under, over our working end, back under like so, and then actually let's bring it over, and then under bringing both ends up to the same side. And there you go, your simple slip knot. Have fun.
