Hi friends I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida. And I've been asked how do we get rid of moles? Well you know moles are a problem in a lot of people's lawns and flowerbeds and the reason that they're there is because generally they're feeding on insects, those insects could be either grub worms or regular worms that are living in your vegetable garden or maybe living in your lawn as well. Now one of the things that moles do is as they travel they push up all that dirt and that could push up your plants and it could also kill your grass. So how do you get rid of moles? Well we've a little process I'll go through with your very quickly. But what we do is we go out the night before and we're going to tamp down all of the mole runs that we see. In the morning, the holes that have been re-pooped up are their feeding holes. Once the feeding holes have been established by the following morning looking to see which ones have popped back up, we use a product called Talprid, T A L P R I D. Now Talprid looks like little worms and basically they're impregnated with an insecticide or a mole bait basically that will kill the moles. We peel off the bait, we dig a little hole to find out where the run is, we drop it right inside the hole, we'll cover it back up again and when the mole comes back through to feed, he'll find the little worm, he'll eat it and it will kill him. So that's one way to get rid of moles in the yard. The other way is to eliminate the food source and by eliminating the food source is by applying a product called Dylox, D Y L O X, Dylox very good product that will the worms and the grubs that are in the lawn that the mole is feeding on. If you kill off the food source, the mole will end up moving next door and then you won't have a problem with dealing with these little fellas because moles can cause a lot of problems in your yard. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida, hoping you have a pest free day.
