Hi. I'm Maria Vieages, and we are going to do grilled cheese sandwiches with green tomatoes and that's a twist. So, what we're going to do is we have some green tomatoes and green tomatoes are not very well known in the United States, in every place, but they are staples in the South and I'm from the South. So, we're going to fry some of these green tomatoes, these awesome things, and we're going to add it to the grilled cheese. And, then, the other twist that we're going to do is we have some pepper jack and we have some sharp cheddar. So, we're going to have the hot, we're going to have the sharp cheddar, we're going to have the crunchiness of the green tomato. And, then, we're going to have this wonderful ciabatta bread that has a crusty outside and a really nice soft inside and it's a total winner. Trust me. What's going to happen here is the flour and the egg help the panko stick to the tomato, otherwise, the breadcrumbs just slide off. And, these will adhere better because they're big and chunky. And, then, panko and then you're going to shake it a little bit. And that's what it looks like before it goes in the oil. So, what you're going to do is we have these cooking and you want them to be nice and brown. And you can cheat, of course, by looking and these are ready to turn. And, then, you're going to flip them over and you're going to let the other side cook. And, these are ready to go on to paper towels on a plate, or a pan or whatever. Look at that; look at the dimensions of this. Now, okay, so, what you want to do for your next step is we're going to take some butter and we're going to butter one side of the bread. And, then, we're also going t some butter in a hot skillet, because the bread is going to soak the butter. And, then, what you're going to is you're going to put a slice of cheddar on there and then we're going to put a green tomato. And, then, we're going to put some pepper jack on there. And you put the cheese down first and the tomato in the middle because the cheese is your glue. Okay. So, as you can see, we've flipped the sandwich and see how it's really crunchy and nice and brown? And, we're going to just push down on it and push down on it so the insides will melt. Okay, so this is what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the grilled cheese sandwich with a twist and it's not sliced white bread with plastic cheese. You have green tomato in there, you have cheddar. You have a little pepper jack. We have some micro greens so you can be in denial and feel like you're eating healthy. And then, a little sriracha on there, it'll give it a lot of kick, it's hot and you can rub it in there and eat it and you're set for the day.
