Hi. I'm Lorie Fangio and I'm a chef instructor and food blogger. And today, I'm in the kitchen showing you how to avoid burning your spaghetti sauce. It's going to be a lifesaver. So, to prevent your spaghetti sauce from sticking when you're making it from scratch, it's really simple. All you really need to do is be sure you coat the bottom of your pan with olive oil very well before you start to cook your onions and your garlic. And, what you want to do is, you want to cook your onions first. You don't want to caramelize them, you want them just to sweat. And, once they start to look soft, then you're ready to go. If you caramelize them, that's when the sticking begins to happen. So, you just want to cook your onions until they begin to sweat. And, once they start to sweat and get soft, then you want to add your garlic. Now, your garlic is another part that you need to watch for. If you let your garlic get brown against the bottom of the pan, then your sauce is going to stick the whole time you're simmering it. So, you want to just add your garlic, cook for about a minute and then add your tomato products and that will keep your sauce from sticking.
