Hello, everyone. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors, and today I'm going to talk to you about how to install transition strip from carpet to ceramic tile. For this job you'll need a couple of things. For this job we'll be using a hammer, a carpet seaming strip and the nails. So, the first thing we want to do is take our strip and put it into place. You want to make sure that you get about half the distance on the ceramic tile and on the carpet. But, you don't want the nail holes to go onto the ceramic tile; that way you don't have to drill anything out. So, then, you will firmly press down on the strip, put your nail into place and begin to drive it in. Now, when it comes really close to being all the way driven in, I leave it alone and I go ahead and I put in the other ones. After you have all your nails in, we're going to go back, press firmly on the strip and tack those nails right in. And then when you let up off of the tack strip, it's actually going to push it up into that nail. You want to make sure that you don't drive it in there too far and actually bend that strip. And there you have it, that's how you can install a tack strip to go from carpet to ceramic tile. Thank you for watching, good luck with this project.
