Hi, I'm Mark Sodja. I'm a repair tech at In this video, I'm going to show you how to replace the string on a Toro Trimmer. We'll get started by first removing the cap on the trimmer head. It's held in place with a couple of tabs. I just squeeze those in and the cap will come right off. And that gives us access to the spool, which also comes out of the trimmer head. I'll take whatever string is left on the spool and remove it. Here I have my new string. I want to start by inserting the string through the tab on the side of the spool. This will hold the string as we wrap it. Now on the front of the spool it actually shows the direction we wind the line. I this case it's clockwise. So I'll go ahead and start winding the line and I just want to keep this as consistent as I can. The more that you cross the string over itself the more likely it is to jam inside the spool later. And you'll just continue to wind until you have the spool full. Once it's full, I like to use a pair of wire cutters to cut the string off of the rest of the spool. Now I'll put the spool back into the trimmer head. Replace the cap. The cap just snaps into place. And that's how easy it is to replace the line in your Toro string trimmer.
