Hello, everyone. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors, and today I want to talk to you about how to get the rust stains out of the back of your toilet tank caused from well water. For this we are going to be using a couple of different things. For this job we are going to be using some chemicals. There's several different kinds out there in the market but you want to make sure you get one that is safe on porcelain and that removes rust. Next you'll need something to actually scrub the porcelain with. We are going to be using a green scratch pad. Next we are going to be working with chemicals so you want to protect your hands with some sort of gloves. First, carefully remove the top of the toilet tank. Next we put on our gloves. What I like to do is take the scratch pad and get it a little wet if you are using a dry chemical. And then take your chemical and pour it onto the scratch pad. And then just gently start scrubbing off the rust. Depending on how long the rust has been there it may take a little bit longer then if you just put a new toilet in. Doing it this way takes a lot of elbow grease. The other option is using a liquid rust remover. Doing it this way you can actually put the liquid into the back of the tank and it will slowly start dissolving the rust off of the porcelain. I like doing this if you are not going to be using the toilet for quite a while. That way it gives the chemical time to work. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors. And you just learned how to remove the rust stains in back of your toilet tank caused by well water. Thanks for watching, good luck with this project.
