This is Nicholas Iarocci, the home source guy, president and owner of Source Development, Inc., a residential and commercial construction company in Garnerville, New York and this is how to remove grout residue from tiles. So I have excessively left a ton of grout residue on these tiles here and I'm just going to try to prove my point. Sometimes you might, especially in the Summer months you want to get rid of as much of the residue as you can right away, these grouts are really strong, they've got additives in them but I've left mine on for you folks. So pay heed, okay. So we're going to try to get rid of this. I have a mixture of white vinegar and water I'm just going to pour over this area here. So essentially the whole idea behind it is to scrub the dried residue grout off of the tile. I've got this scrubber that you can get anywhere and I'm just going to do this in a circular motion. It's only been a couple of hours that this has been sitting so it's still relatively wet, maybe in the joints it might be a little harder but, so we're just going to continue. You've got to love that vinegar smell. If this was on for any longer, I'd probably have to use an acidic cleaner that's very caustic, it literally is an acid that they have similar to this actually. I got this at the local hardware store. What that would do is break down the cement or the grout so that you are able to clean it off but I think this should do it and again at all costs you should try to eliminate this happening. You want to remove all the grout you can from the minute it's applied. I'm going to remove it, check to make sure we got everything off. You could also use a knife to clean it off, get the high spots off. If you have any detail cleaning you want to do maybe in the joint, you could also use a knife a little bit. And this was how to remove grout residue from ceramic tile. This is Nicholas Iarocci, the home source guy, president and owner of Source Development, Inc. helping you build a better life.
