Hi, I'm Chef Barbara Mattaliano from Goose Valley Natural Foods. Today, I'm going to teach you how to make fried rice in a rice cooker. This will save you time in the kitchen. You just prep your ingredients, it takes about ten minutes to chop up all your vegetables and then you're just going to measure everything out, put it in the pot, turn the rice cooker on and it's that simple. So I'm going to start by putting two tablespoons of sesame oil into the rice cooker and then I've chopped up one tablespoon of garlic and one tablespoon of ginger and I'm just going to add that and then I'm going to add half of an onion that I chopped up, just a white onion and then half of a red bell pepper, give it a quick stir and then I'm going to add two carrots that I chopped up and two scallions or a baby onion, just add those and now I'm going to season with a little salt and pepper and give that a quick stir. So for this fried rice, I'm using our whole grain brown rice blend and typically you would use two cups of water to one cup of rice but for this because I'm doing all the other ingredients in the rice cooker, I'm going to decrease the water by one cup. So I'm going to use three cups of water and I'm going to use one bag of our brown rice fusion. So I'm going to add the rice and then I'm going to add three cups of water and then I took two eggs then I just gave them a quick whisk. I'm going to add the two eggs, just pour it right in. So now I'm going to add two tablespoons of soy sauce, just add that, I'm going to give it one last stir, just stir everything through. Oh fried rice in a crock pot, so exciting. So I'm going to close it and then I'm going to set the cook switch. You want to just make sure you set it to cook and then you want to make sure you press down and that it's on cook and I'm going to check back in about 30 minutes to see if it has clicked over to the warming function and that's when I'll give it a stir and see how, you know, if it's finished cooking. So the rice cooker just switched to the warming function. So I'm going to check our fried rice in the rice cooker is ready. Let's serve it up. Oh, it smells great. Look at it. It looks just like fried rice, all in one pot and this was super easy, just put all the ingredients inside, hit the cook switch on and 45 minutes later you have fried rice in the rice cooker. Try it at home. I know you'll like it.
