Rebar is a steel bar used in construction. The most common use of rebar is to be embedded in concrete, which provides structural support. Rebar has ridges that allow the concrete to bond to it. This enables the concrete to bear a much larger load. It is important to the integrity of the concrete that the rebar be rust resistant. One common way to rust proof rebar is by covering it in epoxy. It is important that the bar resist rust in these situations as well. Waterborne epoxy paint adheres very well to metal and protects it from corrosion, abrasion and extreme temperatures.
