Shrink your pants in the washing machine.

Maybe you've lost weight and still want to wear your favorite jeans, or maybe you baggy sweatpants have gotten a little too loose. Shrink pants easily in the washing machine and dryer in no time. Materials made of cotton, including jeans and some types of slacks, are easily shrinkable. The process can be repeated as many times as needed. Wearing your pants several times between washes will break them in a little bit so you may have to occasionally shrink them again.

Step 2

Place jeans or pants into the washer and change the heat settings. The pants should be washed in the hottest water you can use.

Step 3

Place pants directly into the dryer once the wash cycle stops. Dry the pants on very high heat for an extended period of time.

Step 4

Repeat the process until the jeans are as tight as you desire.

Tip

Wash new pants by themselves so the hot water won't cause the color to bleed on to any other laundry.
