How to Pull Down Window Blinds

Lisa Wampler

Solid window blinds are functional yet relatively inexpensive, and are therefore installed in many homes. Window blinds are simple to use, yet they can be very frustrating when you try to pull them down and they roll all the way up when you let go. Use patience and perfect your technique for better results.

  1. Grasp the bottom edge of the window blind with one hand. The blind has a wooden or plastic stick along the bottom that acts as a weight.

  2. Pull the blind downward until you reach the position you want the blind to rest in.

  3. Hold the blind still for one or two seconds before you let go of it to allow the locking clasp in the blind time to reset. Letting go too quickly will cause the blind to roll back up.
