Stickers and tape are common household items. You can find these items on just about any kind of surface from wood to plastic to clothing. However, stickers and tape can often leave a sticky mess after removal. Residue removal from plastic, as opposed to fabric, can be relatively simple. The products need to remove residue from plastic surfaces are often nonabrasive and have no risk of staining or damaging them.
Step 1
Remove as much of the sticker from the plastic surface as possible.

Step 2
Use water and soap to try and remove the sticker residue. Use a circular motion to remove as much of the residue as possible.
Step 3
Use cooking oil if the water and soap does not remove all of the residue. Allow the cooking oil to set for at least two hours. Use a circular motion to rub away as much of the residue as possible.
Step 4
Use a commercial cleaner such as Goo Gone if water, soap and cooking oil does not remove all of the sticker residue. Spray Goo Gone on the affected area and rub off.
