When the cord to your Hunter Douglas shade needs repair, you can fix it yourself with just a few supplies and save yourself the cost of sending it back to the manufacturer for repair. You will need to purchase a replacement cord from a Hunter Douglas supplier for your particular shade.
Things You'll Need
- Replacement cord
- Screwdriver (flat head)
- Large needle

Remove the cover off the header of the shade with a flat-head screwdriver and pull the shade out of the slot.
Pull the end of the cord for the shade where the knot is tied towards you and cut off the knot with the scissors.
Remove the old cord by pulling it out of the shade.
Thread the end of the new cord into the eye of the needle and insert the needle into the hole where the old cord was.
Feed the new cord through the shade where the old cord was.
Push the needle with the cord through the bottom rail. Remove the needle from the end of the cord and tie a knot in the end of the cord so it won’t come through the hole.
Feed the shade through the slot in the rail and replace the cover and secure it with the screwdriver.
