How to Make a Stun Gun From Scratch

Place a sheet of newspaper on a table to protect the surface. Place the disposable flash camera on the newspaper with the lens facing up. Remove the screws from around the front of the camera with the Phillips screwdriver.

Stand the camera upside down on the newspaper. Remove the screws from the bottom of the camera and from the back with the Phillips screwdriver.

Place the camera on the newspaper with the lens facing down. Pull off the back cover.

Place the back cover horizontally on the newspaper with the inside facing up. Drill a hole in the right bottom edge of the back cover with the portable drill. Drill another hole an inch away from the first hole.

Insert the tip of the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver into the seam at the bottom between the battery and the battery housing of the camera. Lift up on the tip of the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver to raise the battery out of the housing. Pull the battery out and set it aside for later.

Insert the tip of the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver into the seam at the bottom between the black film cartridge and the film housing of the camera. Lift up on the tip of the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver to raise the cartridge out. Pull it out and dispose of it.

Cut two 6-inch lengths of electric wire with the scissors. Strip a half inch of insulation off the ends of both wires with the wire strippers.

Heat up the soldering iron for five minutes. Wrap an end of one of the two electric wires around the head of a metal screw. Wrap an end of the other electric wire around the head of the other metal screw. Apply a drop of solder to each of the metal screws where the wrapped electrical wires meet the head. Let the solder cool for a minute.

Insert a metal screw, pointed end first, through each of the two holes in the edges of the back cover--so that the screw head is flush with the hole. Apply bonding glue around the holes to cement the head of each screw to the inside the back cover. Let the bonding glue set for an hour.

Solder the free end of one of the two electric wires to the top left contact (labeled as "+") on the silver cylindrical capacitor on the left side of the camera. Solder the free end of the other electric wire to the top right contact (labeled as "-") on the silver cylindrical capacitor on the left side of the camera. Let the solder cool for two minutes.

Reinsert the battery into the battery housing. Place the back cover back onto the camera. Reattach the screws to the back and to the bottom of the camera. Reattach the screws to the front of the camera.

Activate the stun gun you have made when needed by rotating the film advance nub at the top right back of the camera. Place the two metal screws on the side of your stun gun against an intruder's body. Press the shutter trigger on the top right to "fire" your stun gun.
