Dry the blade as soon as it gets wet to prevent rusting.
Sharpen the blade every time it gets dull to keep the knife in working order.
Polish the handle with the correct polisher every time you sharpen the blade. For instance, if your handle is wooden, use a wood polish or wood oil. If the handle is metal, use the appropriate metal polish.
Oil the stiletto blade after you sharpen it. Wipe off excess oil with the cloth.
Oil all pivot points on a weekly basis. Apply 1 or 2 drops of oil on the pivot and open and close the knife several times to work the oil into the pivot.
