Video of the Day
Lay the wrapping paper with the wrong side up. Draw an 11-inch circle using the compass and cut it out. This is the basic pattern for your fabric tortilla warmer.
Fold the fabric with the wrong sides together. Place the tortilla warmer pattern on the doubled fabric, pin it and cut it out.
Move the pattern to a different area of the folded fabric, pin it and cut it out. You will now have four fabric circles.
Double the quilt batting. Place the tortilla warmer pattern on the quilt batting, pin it and cut it out.
Lay one fabric circle on your work surface with the right side down. Place a batting circle on the fabric. Lay another circle on top of the batting with the right side up. Match up the edges evenly and pin them.
Cut a 16-inch piece of the bias binding. Slip the edge of the layered circle between the folds of the bias binding and pin through all layers. Note: The 16 inches of bias binding will not go around the whole circle.
Top stitch the bias binding through all layers to connect.
Repeat the process for the remaining circles.
Place both layered circles together. Match the bias bound edges together and the raw edges together. Find the center of the raw edge on the circle and mark with a pin.
Cut a 22-inch piece of the bias binding. Fold each short end of the bias binding a 1/2 inch to the wrong side and press. Find the center of the bias binding strip and mark with a pin.
Slip the edge of the layered circle between the fold for the bias binding. Match the center pin on the binding with the center pin on the layered circle. Pin the binding around the raw edges of the circle.
Overlap the folded ends over the previously sewn bias binding and pin them.
Top stitch the bias binding through all layers to finish the pocket of the tortilla warmer.
