Foot odor is an embarrassing problem that is remarkably hard to remedy. Frequently stinky feet are a result not of poor hygiene, but rather of unpleasant fungus that may have managed to live unnoticed on the bottom of feet, under toenails or even between toes. One of the best ways to fight this type of foot invasion is with apple cider vinegar, which can clear out unwanted foot guests with a single application.

Clean out your foot bath thoroughly. Even if it is brand new, wash it out with scalding water to make sure that it is entirely sanitary.

Pour 4 cups of apple cider vinegar into the foot bath. It is very important that the vinegar goes in first.

Add four cups of warm water. The water needs to be at least lukewarm, but you can make it as hot as you like.

Sprinkle in 1 1/2 cups of baking soda. The baking soda will also help soothe athlete's foot, which can also contribute to foot odor.

Soak your feet for 10 minutes. You may wish to read a book or a magazine while you wait.

Towel dry your feet. They will be softer and smell clean and fresh.

Tip

Old shoes that have gotten repeatedly wet or sweaty can contribute to foot odor and provide a haven for fungi. If you have trouble with foot odor it may be time to replace your favorite pair of sneakers.
