After years of long beachy waves and mid-length blowouts, Kelly Ripa made the shift to an angular bob. The talkshow host has made the look her own, styling it with ample texture that frames her face while adding volume to the shortest layers at the crown. The look sits between wavy and straight, always looking fuss-free yet polished. Channel Kelly Ripa with an angled bob that suits work and play just as well as early-morning celeb interviews.

Wash your hair with a volumizing shampoo, working the product into the roots of your hair. Rinse completely and apply a smoothing conditioner to the bottom 2 inches of your hair. Allow it to sit for 3 minutes and rinse well. Ripa's hair has natural looking volume at the root while still maintaining shine.

Gently towel dry your hair, concentrating on the ends. Pour a dime-sized amount of dry oil into the palm of your hand and pull it through your hair starting from 1 inch down from the root. Comb your hair from roots to ends to evenly distribute the oil while detangling. Dry oils add shine and heat protection to hair without weighing it down.

Allow your hair to air-dry. Divide your hair into 2-inch wide sections, and pin them to your head with hair clips. Heat a 1-inch curling iron to the medium heat setting.

Remove the section of hair closest to the left side of your face from its clip. Hold the curling iron next to the section and wrap the hair around the iron loosely, starting 1 inch down from the roots; direct the iron away from your face. Hold the hair against the iron for 10 seconds and release. Repeat, working your way around the back of your head, until all pieces have been curled.

Coat a natural-bristle brush with flexible-hold hairspray. Gently brush through the curls to loosen them into waves and create a natural look. The spray will add hold to your style.

Pick up a dime-sized amount of texturizing paste, and rub it between your fingertips. Pull it through the bottom 2 inches of each wave to add definition.

Tip

Have your stylist cut your hair into a bob that angles gradually toward the back of your head to achieve Ripa's look.
