Eyebrow shaping can be a complicated process that many women spend years mastering. One of the biggest challenges for those blessed with full, thick eyebrows is that hairs tend to grow out a bit too long, making managing and shaping the eyebrow even harder. Longer hairs often bend and curl, distorting the shape of the eyebrow. Fortunately, some regular trimming can correct those renegade brow hairs and make the eyebrow grooming experience much smoother.

Step 1

Brush out your eyebrows from the bridge of your nose toward your temple with an eyebrow brush. Using a brow pencil to fill in your eyebrows with the shape and width that you prefer. This step helps you visualize how much length you'll need to take off of your eyebrow hairs before trimming.

Step 2

Hold the brow brush horizontally and brush the eyebrow hairs directly up so that the tips of the eyebrow hairs extend beyond the body of the eyebrow. Hold the brush steady so that the hairs stick straight up and feel stable.

Step 3

Snip the tips of the hairs that extend above the body and shape of the main eyebrow with a pair of cuticle scissors. Work in tiny sections as you move from the inner portion of the eyebrow to the outside edge of the brow. Only snip the very tips of the hair off to avoid creating the appearance of thin eyebrows.

Step 4

Brush the hairs back into place after you have snipped each section. Step back to look in the mirror and evaluate.
