As far as iconic Disney princess hairstyles are concerned, Elsa's braid is arguably the most enviable. Her golden tresses could make even the most talented beauty blogger with the most apt braiding skills feel pangs of jealousy. Luckily, you don't have to be a professional hairstylist to get the Queen of Arendelle's covetable braid. Here, we breakdown how to create the look at home using just a few simple tools and techniques.
Things You'll Need
- Dry shampoo
- Curling iron
- Hair clip (optional)
- Bobby pins
- Clear elastic hair tie
Give roots lift with a little dry shampoo.
Curl the top sections of your hair in two-inch pieces. Wrap your hair around the iron without clamping.
Always curl away from your face for the most flattering look.
Tease hair at the crown using a comb. Be sure to leave a few face-framing stands loose.
Twist and pin the teased section of hair back. Use a clip to hold the non-teased section of hair separate from the top section, if desired.
Brush out hair with a bristle brush and spray with hairspray for extra hold.
Begin a French braid, using the sections of hair just below the twisted portion to start.
Starting from the top of the braid, pull on sections to loosen the braid and make it look fuller.
Use bobby pins to secure any flyaways or loose strands.
Tease the loose, face-framing strands with a comb and smooth any flyaways.
Spray with hairspray to complete the look.
Now, all that's left to do is belt out, "Let it go!"
