The iPhone comes with a number of default settings, including a setting that makes a clicking sound when someone presses a character on the touch-screen keypad. The sound is similar to that of a typewriter and alerts the user every time a key is pressed. You can adjust the volume of the clicking sound to adapt to quiet settings or turn it off completely if necessary.

Touch the “Settings” icon from the home screen.

Touch the “Sounds” icon from the settings screen.

Scroll down to “Keyboard Clicks” from the Sounds menu.

Slide the cursor to the “On” position next to “Keyboard Clicks” to turn off the keypad click sound.

Press the up and down volume controls on the upper-left side of the phone to adjust the keypad volume up and down.

Slide the cursor to the “Off” position next to “Keyboard Clicks” to turn off the keypad click sounds entirely.
