Tech Deal! Get a Pal Bot Rechargeable Speaker for Just $19.99

eHow Tech Blog

All together, now: Awwwww!

That’s the inevitable reaction upon seeing the GOgroove Pal Bot, an insidiously adorable rechargeable speaker that’s a perfect replica of the Android mascot.

It normally sells for $29.99, plus a minimum of $4 for shipping, but as part of an exclusive eHow deal, you can get a Pal Bot for $19.99 shipped. When you get to the checkout page, click “Use coupon code,” type in ANDPAL, then click “Apply Coupon.”

You can then click “Estimate shipping,” choose your location, and select the Free Shipping option that appears. (Note that this is good for U.S. buyers only.)

Important: That coupon code expires this Friday, Jan. 31. And there’s a chance these could sell out before then.

Here’s what’s interesting about the Pal Bot. First, like I said, it’s insanely cute. It has movable arms, glowing eyes, and a cord that wraps around the body and tucks neatly away when not in use.

Second, although it looks fairly compact, it manages to squeeze in dual side-firing drivers and a passive subwoofer (which is audiophile-speak for “not just a single crummy speaker inside”). Plus, it incorporates a rechargeable battery that’s good for up to six hours, according to GOgroove.

Finally, check out the 100-plus user reviews on Accessory Genie’s product page. It’s one five-star rating after another, the general consensus being that the Pal Bot sounds amazing and looks really cool. (It’s similarly loved over at Amazon.)

I’ll second the sound part: I had a chance to listen to a Pal Bot, and it produces much louder, richer audio then you’d expect from what looks like a toy. It’s perfect for kids’ rooms, dens, offices, and other smallish environments.

Plus, it can plug into any audio source that has a headphone jack, so it’s almost universally compatible. It even comes with a three-year warranty, another surprise given the seemingly cheapo nature of this little guy.

And here’s your chance to score one for extra cheap. At $20 out the door, this would make a great gift (but I won’t tell if you decide to “gift” it to yourself).
