3 Ways to Style Plaid Through Any Season

Plaid Layering

One of the great things about plaid is that there are so many variations in color and pattern, it really can be worn every season! Recently, I picked up a few plaid pieces that I have dressed up and also simply worn with jeans. Here are a few examples of how to work plaid into your wardrobe.

Plaid Styling

1. Pair a Plaid Button Down with a Flowy Skirt – What would normally be a casual button down is instantly spruced up when you pair it with a flowy skirt. If you wear the skirt at the waist, your plaid pattern won’t look too busy or top heavy. Add a pair of nude heals and some sparkly gems and you are ready for an evening out!

2. Layer a Plaid Blouse with a Blazer – Adding a sharp blazer over plaid is a complementary contrast. A black blazer is a staple item that works with just about any plaid. Black heels and a tote create a fun and comfortable business casual look!

3. Accessorize with a Plaid Scarf – Whether you’re heading to the airport or meeting up with friends for lunch, this is a simple way to work in minimal plaid. Throw a scarf over a sleeveless tee and pair it with distressed denim and your favorite flats. This is a perfect way to add plaid to your wardrobe that will can be worked in through the winter months as well. Coats always seem to call out for a good plaid print.

Have you pulled out the plaid yet? How will you be styling it?
