The moment I grew a pregnancy-induced hair on my chin, I knew there was only one way to survive parenthood: with laughter. And sharp tweezers, apparently. So I veered slightly off-course from my television writing career to launch a family humor blog, The Laughing Stork, where I write about important parenting issues such as the physics behind gravity-defying baby poop. I’m excited to announce I’ll be imparting similar wisdom to you here at eHow as a parenting humor blogger — and, hopefully, helping you laugh at this crazy journey as well.
I’ve come a long way since that first chin hair; I now have two kids, a four-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy, and countless bodily “mysteries,” thanks to carrying those two kids. I mine our everyday lives, the news, and my passion for pop culture for my humor columns—columns that may come in the form of top 10 lists, graphics or observational stories. As you parents know, there is never a shortage of humorous family-related material. Unlike, say, coffee or wine or smiles from Sean Penn.
So, please, pull up a chair, relax and share a few laughs with me each week. I’ll bring the coffee and tweezers.
P.S. Yes, Candy Kirby is my real name. Yet another thing in my life that has spawned lots of laughs.
