S. Russell Groves is one of my favorite New York-based designers (and believe me, there are a LOT of talented ones to choose from in that city). Viewing his work, you’ll notice a trend of clean lines, vintage-modern furniture, bold art and neutral color palettes that feature exciting pops of electric color.

This room, from his project called “Broome Street Residence,” says it all. I’m crazy for the soft taupe color he chose for the main pieces in the room… it’s balanced perfectly by striking pops of black and saffron in the lamps and throw pillows.

And the chairs sitting by the dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows couldn’t be more perfect for the tranquil setting – they exude metropolitan-chic with their low backs and buttery leather upholstery. In fact, this New York loft is so perfect, it’s enough to make this Cali-born girl reconsider her loyalty to the west coast!
