While on a recent trip to Hawaii, the island of Kauai to be specific, I found myself surrounded by some of the most beautiful vegetation I’ve witnessed to date. Often referred to as the “Garden Isle,” it’s not hard to see why. Wandering around, I was amazed by the variety of plants that pepper the island. Each vibrant flower practically begged for its turn in front of the camera – and a space to shine on this blog. So without further ado, here are some of the best and brightest encountered while exploring paradise.
The hibiscus flowers were EVERYWHERE and, to be fair, this is only a small sampling of what I saw. It got harder and harder to convince my husband to stop the car just so I could take yet another hibiscus picture. Go figure.
And just to give some perspective …
The shots below were taken during walks around the island and visits to the Na ‘Aina Kai Botanical Garden and National Tropical Botanical Garden. Both of which are open to the public and contain a wide variety of plants from Hawaii and beyond.
How many were you able to identify?
