When my husband and I moved into our place about a year ago, we struggled with the furniture arrangement of our small living room. When we had some family over, my brother-in-law suggested we put the TV over the fireplace. It was tempting, given our options. But, we really didn’t want the darn TV to be the complete focal point of the room. I might watch more than I’d like to admit, but I don’t want to advertise that to every guest we have over. I’m glad to say we found an arrangement that suited our needs. Our TV sits on a teak console table next to the fireplace in a more diminutive placement. And, we have a favorite piece of art with custom framing hanging as the large focal point of the room over the fireplace. But being the perfectionist that I am, I’m not entirely pleased with the setup. The console table is nice and narrow, but I’d prefer it to be a little shorter.
Scouring the usual sites on Saturday morning with coffee in hand, I came across this very novel idea. At $1000, it would be quite a splurge for us and our TV is smaller than the recommended 42 inches. But for those of you with small spaces and TV placement issues, you might consider or at least be inspired by this piece.
