As an enthusiastic advocate for do-it-yourselfers all over the globe, DIY knockoffs are one of the many things in life that make my home-loving heart beat. Whether reupholstering an armchair to achieve a custom look or scouring thrift stores for my own “antiques,” uncovering a find and saving a pretty penny makes me smile any day of the week. So when I stumbled upon these super chic wall prints, I immediately tore this tattered page from my favorite design magazine and tucked it away for a rainy day.

Imagine my delight when I discovered two gold frames (bonus: both already outfitted with white mats) at my local thrift store. At just $4 a pop, it was my sign to let the DIY games begin!

The original prints — falling victim to a dated sea shell motif that not an ounce of me was sad to see go — slipped right out. I then flipped them over to create the perfect blank canvas for my art project …

Once dry, the frames are easily reassembled and complete with my copycat artwork…

With very little artistic ability required, this is one DIY wall art project anyone can easily tackle. So grab a brush and go get ’em DIY-ers!
