A benefit of living in California is that it allows for trips to the local farmers’ market all year long, but summer is my favorite season to do my shopping. My trip this week provided bushels of sweet corn, ripe avocados, and as many Russian and heirloom tomatoes I could carry. I sometimes go a bit overboard when presented with so many options, given there are only two of us to do the actual eating, so I have to make a dedicated effort to ensure nothing goes to waste. If you’re like me, and hope to make the most of your market goodies before they spoil, here are a few suggestions I found helpful.
