I have always loved the look of bone inlaid furniture. The black and white motif is so striking and easily adds a bit of ethnic flair to nearly any style room. For a new project I’m working on, we ordered six dining chairs directly from India through Global Art Interiors. Their website has terrifically priced pieces – the best part? They sent me pictures of their artisans handcrafting our chairs!

These chairs are a replica of 18th century Indian palace dining chairs. The classic inlay design of flowers, foilage and a pair of royal ram heads on each end lends itself to nearly any interior scheme. If dining chairs aren’t on your “need to buy” list, they also make great tables, chests and tool using the same technique. Try a stool in the bathroom for a bit of flair, or try a chest as a focal point in a bedroom or entry, as the pop of color and extra flair are sure to liven up any space.

Here are our finished chairs, ready to ship to the U.S.!
