Hot glue (for pinwheel-style medallions)
To make the pinwheel-style medallions, cut two strips of cardstock to be 1 1/2 by 11 inches. Glue two ends together so you have one long strip. Then fold it, accordion style.
When completely folded, glue together the two ends, forming a circle. Let dry.
When dry, push the circle flat, as shown.
Run some hot glue on top of the medallion, and adhere one of the award cut-outs. Hold it down until it’s dry (or place a light weight on top — otherwise it won’t stay put).
Then cut out two rectangles from cardstock and trim off a triangle shape from the bottom of each, forming the ends of your ribbon. Glue in place on the back of the medallion. Glue a pin to the back.
To make the simpler award ribbons, simply find a circular object that is slightly larger than your award cut-outs (I used a spool of ribbon). Trace around it onto cardstock and cut out the circle, either smooth around the circle or in a scalloped pattern. Use the same method as previous for cutting the ribbon pieces.
Glue together all of your pieces and then glue one of the pins onto the back of each.
Repeat thse steps with all the different awards, elect a few judges at your party and get ready for a contest like no other!
