Printables make so many things possible for a non-artist like me. And they’re quick — print, trace, GO. eHow’s Valentine’s printable coloring pages can be used many different ways. Here are a few I played with last weekend.
Make a ShrinkyDink Necklace
Place a sheet of Frosted Ruff N Ready ShrinkyDink material over the template. Color with markers or watercolor pencils. Cut out and punch a 1/4-inch hole at the center of the top. Cover a cookie sheet with a piece of brown paper back, place the ShrinkyDink on the bag, colored side up, and bake at 325 degrees F for 1 to 3 minutes.
Decorate a Valentine Mailbox
Using the template as a pattern, cut out self-adhesive fun foam. Cover a cereal box with wrapping paper and ribbon, and add the fun foam critter.
Embellish a Dish Towel
Trace the printable onto a 100% cotton dish towel, and color with crayons. Place a paper towel on each side of the dish towel and press with the iron set to high heat. (Don’t skip the paper towels. They “catch” a little of the melted crayon.) Go over the design lines with a permanent marker or fabric marker.
Paint a T-Shirt or Onesie
Trace the printable onto freezer paper, using a permanent marker or thick pencil. Position the freezer paper inside a 100% cotton t-shirt or onesie and press lightly — just enough to get the freezer paper to stick to the fabric. Color with fabric markers.
