Weigh down the boots

The key to getting this Georgie figure to stand and remain sturdy is to weigh down the boots. Place the 2lb weights into the bottom of the rain boots and lie them flat so you'll have space to fit the legs inside.

Tip

Make sure you use boots that are big enough to fit the weights inside the very bottom. We used kids size 13 and there was the perfect amount of space.

Slip pool noodles into the jeans

To create the legs, slip two pool noodles through each jeans leg opening.

Slide the legs into the boots

Fit the bottoms of the pool noodle legs into the rain boots. Tuck the bottom of the jeans into the boots to completely cover the pool noodles. At this point, Georgie should be standing!

Tip

The figure will have more stability when standing if you spread the boots about shoulder length apart rather than right next to one another. If you're placing your figure on your lawn, try anchoring the boots into the ground with stakes and string for increased stability.

Give the jeans some size

To fill out the jeans and create a more realistic look, cut a piece of pool noodle that snugly fits horizontally into the jeans at the hips.

Cut the noodles down

The pool noodle legs will be standing a bit too tall. Cut the top of the pool noodles down to a more realistic height for a small child. The best way to determine the proper height is to hold the raincoat up by the hood right against the pool noodles, leaving enough space below the bottom of the coat to see 6-7 inches of the jeans. Then cut where the top of the raincoat's hood is.

Create the torso

Tape the top of the pool noodles together to create a solid torso. Then snugly fit a shorter piece of pool noodle through the center of those noodles to create the look of shoulders. At this point, you'll want to flip the figure to face backwards.

Put the raincoat on the Georgie figure

Place the yellow raincoat onto the figure and button it up. To create a more realistic look, slip shorter pieces of pool noodles into the arms and tape them in place.

Give Georgie a balloon

If you plan to use your Georgie from IT as a yard decoration, , you'll want to use balloon sticks like we did for more stability. Tape three balloon sticks together for added length, attach a red balloon and tape the sticks onto the front of the figure. Remember, only the back of Georgie should be visible.

If you're using the figure indoors, a regular red helium balloon on string will work just fine.
